そんなこんなで記念すべき第１回は、、、SMOL FISH です！
初めて彼女たちのライブを観たのはパースにあるThe Birdというライヴハウス。開放的なバックヤードがある、個人的にも何度かDJでお世話になった素敵な大好きな場所です。
初めてSmol Fishを観た時の印象は濃すぎず、あっさりもしていない。激しいわけじゃないのに全然目が離せない！
ジャンルで括ろうとするのが馬鹿馬鹿しくなって来るほど、彼女たちは気が思うまま自由に型にハマらず音を楽しんでいます。Smol Fishがジャンルがそのもの！
ライヴを観るたびに感じること、それは昔大切にしていた大切なものを詰め込んだ箱。ヴィンテージの木製の箱でも、ディズニーランドで買ったお菓子の空き缶でもいいです。屋根裏やアパートのロフト、キッチンのシンク下にずっとしまってあったそれを何十年ぶりかに開けるワクワク感！
何が入っているか大体は分かっているはずなのに、改めて開けると驚きがあったり、ドキドキしたり、気持ちが落ち着いたり、もしくは切なくなったり、ホクホク幸せになったり。
Smol Fishのライヴに何度も行っていて、曲も歌詞も覚えている。それでも毎回のライブに驚きがあったり、ドキドキしたり、気持ちが落ち着いたり、もしくは切なくなったり、ホクホク幸せになったり。
そんなさまざまな気持ちを彼女たちのライヴは届けてくれます。
ある日彼女たちはギターのみでライヴをしたことがありました。ステージにメンバーふたりだけ。
例え少ない音、少ないメンバーだったとしても曲の存在感と空間を支配するかのような自信の強さが”ステージにふたりしか立っていない”ことを忘れさせるほどに圧倒感があって、ますます彼女たちの音楽の虜になったのでした。

💟First band: SMOL FISH!
The first time I saw Smol Fish, it was at a venue called The Bird.
The Bird has a nice backyard and is one of my favorite places. I also DJ there a few times.
First impression of Smol Fish
Not too heavy, not too light.
Not crazy, but I can’t stop watching!
No rules, just music!
They don’t fit in one genre because Smol Fish is the genre!
When I see their live shows, I feel like opening an old treasure box from my childhood.
Maybe it’s a wooden box, maybe it’s a Disneyland cookie tin. It was in the attic, kitchen, or under the bed for a long time.
You know what’s inside, but when you open it, you still feel excited.
Smol Fish’s music gives me the same feeling!
I know their songs, but every time I see them live, I feel different:
•Surprised
•Excited
•Calm
•A little sad
•Happy and warm
One time, only two members played on stage with one guitar.
Even with less sound, the power of their music was amazing! I forgot there were only two people. I fell more in love with their music.
