💟Let’s talk about what band I brought this time!
今回紹介するバンドは、その名もPleasants 🔥
西オーストラリア出身のパンクバンドです。
The Unkownsのライヴをフリーマントルにあるバッファロークラブという場所に観に行った時に対バンしてて、激惚れしてしました。
衝動に駆られてギターをかき鳴らしたら、そのままクソかっこいい曲ができちゃった！みたいなスピード感がある鋭くて短い曲たちを、間髪入れずに次々とプレイする彼らのライヴは、最初っから最後まで気持ちをガーっと熱くさせてくれます。
カセットプレイヤーでお気に入りのパンクバンドのテープを再生した時のあの、なんかすっごい特別なことしてるぅぅぅぅってゆうソワソワもするしワクワクする時間。そしてプレイヤーから流れてくる、少しこもっててギザギザした音で再生されるお気に入りの曲。もう一度聴きたい時の巻き戻し中の待ってる間のドキドキ。
わたしがキュンとくるパンクはいつもそんなロマンが音になっている気がする。出来上がりすぎてないし、尖ってるんだけど手作り感が作り出す近寄りやすさもあって、本能のままに突っ走ってて最高にかっこいい。
Pleasantsを初めて観た時もそんな魅力を感じました。

Hey, I wanna introduce a punk band called Pleasants 🔥 from Western Australia.
I saw them when they were playing with The Unknowns at the Buffalo Club in Fremantle—and I didn’t need time to fall in love with them. Just second ❤️🔥
Their live show was a full-speed blast of short, sharp and cool songs—like just picked up a guitar on pure impulse, play in random a few chords, and boom 💥 a ridiculously cool track was born.
Have you got this feeling?—I get it when I listen to my favorite punk band with tape on a cassette player—such a special feeling. Nervous and excited at the same time. That rough, slightly muffled sound coming out, and even that little moment of waiting while rewinding just to hear your favourite part again. All of it makes the music feel a bit more special.
The kind of punk that I like always has that kind of romance in it.
It’s rough around the edges, not too polished, but has a handmade vibe that makes it feel close. Like it’s not pretending to be cool—it just is.
It’s running wild with instinct, and to me, that’s the coolest thing ever.
When I saw Pleasants for the first time, I felt exactly that.
